Region II

Region II is one of six regions established by the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA). Region II stretches from Akhiok on Kodiak Island to Arctic Village in the Brooks Range and includes over 30 small schools that are classified as either 1A or 2A. Schools with high school enrollment of 5-60 are classified as 1A, and schools with an enrollment of 61-150 are classified as 2A by ASAA.

 

Region II promotes academic excellence through student activities. These activities include cross country running, football, girls volleyball, mixed 6 (co-ed) volleyball, co-ed soccer, wrestling, band, choir, drama, debate, forensics, nordic skiing, basketball, hockey, track and field, softball, word language, swimming and diving, student government, cheerleading and the Region II music festival.
